I am a Marine Stationed at Camp Pendleton, California. About eight months ago I allowed my room mate to drive my Jeep while I was away attending pre-deployment training for Afghanistan. While there he rolled my Jeep literally down a mountain while under the influence of alcohol. Needless to say the Jeep was totalled and is Unrecoverable from the canyon were it now rests. I was a passenger in my own vehicle during a near fatal accident where the driver, who is an insured driver on my policy, had road rage with another driver. I ended up hiring a lawyer because I have an unpaid hospital bill in excess of the settlement amount. In addition, I have had complications from my injuries and need lifetime treatments. We have an arbitration hearing next month, but the driver is only named on the lawsuit, not my auto insurance company. This accident happened in Pennsylvania and I had full tort, stackable, 100,000/300,000. My question is...why is the insurance company not insuring the named insured driver (who by the way happens to be my husband), on my insurance policy?

Comprehensive / collision $500 Deductible / Basic policy overall 5. **Here is the major thing. I got a 3 point ticket (illegal u-turn) last February. BUT THIS IS BEFORE I PURCHASED THIS INSURANCE. For the first month, I paid for $190. Saying that this will go down as I turn 21 this December. The projected 6 month premium was $950. For the second month now, the total amount went up to $330. I asked the agent what the hell happened and he said the insurance company didn't spot my violation record at first. And this caused my insurance rate to go up by $80. Even so, still it's tooooo much! for the car I am driving . . . If it's BMW or something better, I would understand! Please, any advice on this one?

Now the insurance company wants to total my car and what they are offering for my car /their initial proposed settlement of $3500is not nearly enough to buy another car in the same excellent, safe and reliable condition, that is not riddled with hidden problems. This presents a big problem for me as, if I cannot have my car fixed and restored to the same condition as before the crash, I would have to come up with at least $12K to $15K to buy another new safe, reliable economy car. This is an expense that was not in my plans. Also, the insurance company is pushing me to make a hasty decision and is threatening me with not paying for the car rental I needed to get (since my car cannot be driven as the tail light is broken and and rain would get in the car). Is there any way that the insurance company can be prevented from totaling my car and instead pay for properly fixing the car with good OEM parts instead of used (LKQ) parts. I got several estimates, two for around $5K and one for around $7K (this one is from an excellent body shop that has done excellent work on my other previous cars before). The insurance company provided and estimate for $4k using used/LKQ parts. I would appreciate any advice on how to get the best settlement from the insurance company.

I am going to cancel my car insurance because I have not been driving my car - at all. It needs some work so it's been sitting at my house for a few months now.
